Crews battle early morning house fire near Saddlewood Lane in Lee County

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — The Pine Island Fire Control District and the Cape Coral Fire Departments responded to a house fire in the area of Saddlewood Lane in Lee County on Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the homeowners were out of town, and no one was home at the time of the fire. The call came in at 4:30 a.m., and it took firefighters 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Crews are currently monitoring hot spots. The State Fire Marshall is investigating the incident. No word on the cause has been released.
