FC Naples parts ways with head coach Matt Poland

NAPLES, Fla. (WINK) — FC Naples has parted ways with Matt Poland, the club's inaugural head coach and sporting director, on Friday.

The club has appointed Zak Gordon as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Under Poland's leadership, FC Naples secured a fourth-place regular-season finish and advanced to the playoff semifinals during the 2025 USL League One campaign.

Gordon has served as the first assistant coach since February 2025. He has been on the field with FC Naples' first team since the club's inaugural season.

"Zak Gordon has been on the field with FC Naples' First Team since our first season, helping the team achieve its historic 2025 USL League One campaign," said Roberto Moreno, CEO of FC Naples. "We're confident in his leadership as the team moves forward."

As of Friday, FC Naples is 13th in the regular-season standings with a 5-2-10 record.

The club is scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg on Saturday.
