Clewiston police now fully equipped with body cameras

CLEWISTON, Fla. (WINK)—The Clewiston Police Department has fully equipped all patrol officers with body-worn cameras.

The department says 100% of patrol personnel now carry Halo Body-Worn Cameras, fulfilling what it calls a core commitment to officer safety and public trust.

Each camera records in 1080p HD video with high-fidelity audio, giving officers a reliable tool to document their interactions on the street.

The upgrade came at no cost to local taxpayers, thanks to the Clewiston City Commission and a community grant from TJX.

The department says the technology is not meant to replace good police work but to protect and document it.
