Fire tears through Flamingo Bay mobile home in St. James City

ST. JAMES CITY, Fla. (WINK)— A mobile home in Flamingo Bay was destroyed by fire, according to the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District.

Lee County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting the mobile home on fire, with callers also reporting explosions coming from the structure. Eight units from the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found the home fully involved in fire. Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines, initiated an aggressive fire attack and protected nearby structures from the advancing flames.

Thanks to their rapid response and coordinated efforts, crews were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes. The mobile home is considered a total loss. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
