Hendry County man caught after 3-day manhunt, held with no bond

HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. - A man who had been on the run since Friday was taken into custody Monday evening after a traffic stop, according to the Hendry County Sheriff's Office.

Yasire Azcuy Alfonso, 34, was arrested at approximately 7:45 p.m. Monday, July 13, following a days-long search by deputies.

The victim had contacted the Hendry County Sheriff's Office on Friday to report being beaten by Azcuy Alfonso, who allegedly struck the victim repeatedly in the face and threatened to kill them with a knife while brandishing a firearm.

Azcuy Alfonso also allegedly threatened the minor children living in the home, leading the victim to fear for their lives as well.

The victim was held against their will throughout the day Friday before eventually convincing Azcuy Alfonso to let them leave.

As the victim left, Azcuy Alfonso followed them on a four-wheeler until he spotted the victim making contact with a passing law enforcement vehicle.

Deputies searched for Azcuy Alfonso throughout the weekend before finally stopping him Monday evening.

He now faces charges including robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Azcuy Alfonso is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail with no bond.
