NAPLES, Fla. (WINK)— Naples Police arrested a 35-year-old man after he allegedly threatened someone with a concealed weapon at a local hotel.
Officers responded to La Quinta Inn at 1555 Fifth Avenue South on July 12 at approximately 6:42 p.m. after receiving reports of a man threatening people with a knife. When they arrived, officers detained Guillermo Soler, who matched the description provided by witnesses.
According to the victim, Soler approached and asked for food, water and $15 cash. When the victim refused, Soler pulled out a "shank" that had been concealed on his person and demanded the victim's wallet.
The victim retreated to their vehicle and called 911, fearing for their life.
After completing their investigation, officers arrested Soler on multiple charges. He was transported to the Naples Jail Center without further incident.
Soler faces charges of attempted armed robbery, possession of a concealed weapon by a convicted Florida felon and simple assault with intent to do violence.
