South Florida woman's new license plate spells out an eyebrow-raising message

MIAMI, Fla. (WINK) — A South Florida woman is furious after getting her new license plates in the mail.

The plate spells out SQZ A55, but from afar, it looks completely different, and she thinks it's inappropriate. Nancy Dello Stritto is now becoming the talk of her retirement community.

She says she didn't even know she was getting a plate, let alone one with that "message." While she's pretty unhappy, she said others, like her sons and friends, want her to keep it.

"And this is what I received from the DMV for my new license plate that's good for 10 years. Good. Good," Dello Stritto said.

"I'm kind of resigning to it and I figured maybe it was just destined to be on my car," she said.

"I can handle it if I get a few honks here and there. Actually, being over 70, I might like a few honks," Dello Stritto said.

The plate was sent from the Broward County Property Tax Collector's Office. While no one wanted to talk on camera, the office says anyone unhappy with a plate can exchange it for free.
