Collier County and Greater Naples Fire open station to speed up Golden Gate Estates response times

Greater Naples Fire Rescue and Collier County teamed up to open a new station focused on enhancing fire and emergency medical services for Golden Gate Estates residents.

Station 74 is located near the Golden Gate Boulevard and DeSoto Boulevard intersection. The Collier County-owned station houses both Collier County Emergency Medical Services and Greater Naples Fire Rescue.

Collier County officials said Station 74 will improve response times for fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, and other critical incidents.

The station is also expected to positively impact the area's Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification (PPC), according to county officials. ISO evaluates communities based on factors like fire station locations, emergency communications, water supply, equipment, training, and staffing.

Property owners were encouraged to contact their insurance provider to know if the improved ISO classification impacts their homeowners or commercial property insurance rates, as insurance premiums are determined by individual insurance carriers and various underwriting factors.
