A man was arrested in Collier County on Monday after he was accused of traveling to meet a child he was reportedly talking to on social media for sex.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Jonathan Larraga Cordova, 39, was arrested after an investigation was conducted into a cyber tip from Instagram by the INTERCEPT Task Force.
Detectives said the investigation accused Cordova of engaging in sexual activity with the victim and traveling to her community multiple times. Evidence gathered during the investigation by the sheriff's office included the victim's forensic interview and forensic analysis of her electronic device, and then he was arrested.
After Cordova's arrest, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer was placed on him, and he will be released to ICE custody after the charges are satisfied, according to deputies.
Cordova is facing charges of lewd or lascivious battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 16 and traveling to meet a minor after using a computer to facilitate.
