17-month-old child found dead in hot car, investigation underway in Lee County

A death investigation is underway in Lee County after a 17-month-old child was found dead in a hot car on Tuesday.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to 7806 College Parkway at around 5 p.m. in reference to a call about a child found dead in a hot car.

Deputies launched a death investigation and were able to confirm that the deceased girl was 17 months old.

LCSO said that the investigation is active and ongoing, and deputies are coordinating with the State Attorney's Office.
