Large scene with law enforcement closes southbound I-75 in Lee County Wednesday afternoon

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, with the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff's Office, are responding to an active scene on I-75, near the Alico Road exit.

Southbound lanes of the highway are being blocked by law enforcement vehicles, according to traffic cameras in the area. This is causing major delays.

LCSO and FHP are asking people to avoid the area. Viewer-submitted video shows law enforcement standing outside their vehicles with guns drawn.
