The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on several felony drug charges during a tactical traffic stop.
Deputies pulled over and arrested Sergio Davila along Centennial Boulevard in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday after they say he tried to ditch the package full of cocaine.
It all started on July 15; detectives were notified by postal workers that a suspicious package believed to contain drugs was headed for delivery.
Like many residents, Barbara Biehl says it's upsetting to see people taking advantage of the mail system for illegal activity.
"I think that's a terrible way to introduce drugs into the community. That just shouldn't be using the national system to do that," said Biehl.
Deputies tracked the package to a home and watched as it was delivered. Through investigative techniques, detectives were able to locate Davila's vehicle and intercept the package.
Deputies found over a kilogram of cocaine inside the package.
Davila was arrested for trafficking in cocaine, tampering with evidence, and an out-of-county warrant with Collier County.
