Fishermen's Village, an iconic waterfront destination in Punta Gorda, has officially sold in a landmark deal and will transition to local ownership.
According to a news release from SVN Commercial Partners, which represented the seller, Fishermen's Village officially sold on Tuesday to a local ownership group, Harborview Capital Group and Torose Equities, for $43 million. The sale marks the conclusion of an almost three-year process.
Corrie Gates and Ashley Bloom of SVNCP were the listing agents in the transaction.
The sale was originally announced in April, however, the purchaser was unknown to the public at the time.
Fishermen's Village was originally brought to market in 2024 prior to a devastating 2024 hurricane season that included Hurricanes Helene and Milton. SVNCP said it helped advise the receivership to make the strategic decision to stabilize the property rather than rushing to complete a transaction.
SVNCP said that during the recovery, Fishermen's Village was able to regain its momentum and achieve 100% of its retail occupancy.
"The recovery of Fishermen's Village has been extraordinary. Achieving full occupancy after everything the property and community experienced is a testament to the ownership, tenants, management team, and the loyalty of visitors from across Southwest Florida," said Corrie Gates, Director of SVNCP.
The sale includes approximately 97,000 square feet of waterfront retail and office space, five waterfront restaurants, 47 waterfront hotel suites, and a 142-slip marina.
A news release from Harborview Capital Group stated that the partners plan to work closely with the city of Punta Gorda, merchants, marina tenants, tourism organizations, and residents.
HCG said its objective is to restore and enhance Fishermen's Village while preserving its character.
"We are honored to become the next stewards of a place that has meant so much to our family and our community. Fishermen’s Village is the next step in our long-term commitment to investing in Punta Gorda," said Anthony Dubbaneh, co-founder of HCG.
HCG included the following statement in a news release:
Ownership believes the Village's greatest asset has always been its people. Every investment will be guided by collaboration with the community and a shared vision with the City of Punta Gorda to ensure Fishermen's Village remains a defining waterfront destination for generations.
