A man is wanted after he was accused of shooting into a vehicle his family owned outside a home in Port Charlotte on Wednesday.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, George V. Kilgore III, 44, reportedly got into a dispute with his family on Cape Terrace Northwest before he was accused of shooting into the vehicle parked at the home.
Deputies said no people or other property was reported to be shot.
Kilgore is accused of fleeing the area before law enforcement arrived, and he has not been located at this time, according to the sheriff's office. The firearm he is accused of using during the incident was recovered from the home.
The Major Crimes Unit established probable cause for Kilgore's arrest pursuant to possession of a firearm by convicted felon and discharging a firearm in public or on residential property, deputies said.
There is an active felony warrant for Kilgore's arrest. The sheriff's office asks you to contact them at 941-639-2101 with any sightings, or if you have any information on his whereabouts.
