Caught on camera: Charlotte County sheriff asks public to ID woman seen keying a car on video

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)—The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is searching for a woman caught on video keying a parked car.

Surveillance footage shows the woman walking past a parked vehicle, pulling a key from her purse and scratching the car before walking away.

The video has been viewed more than 15,000 times since deputies shared it on social media.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone who recognizes the woman to come forward with information. Tips can be submitted by calling the non-emergency line at 941-639-0013, through Facebook or via the department's free mobile app.

The investigation remains ongoing as deputies work to identify the suspect.
