Friday's forecast takes a wetter turn—Here's when

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking an area of tropical moisture in the Atlantic that will increase our rain chances Friday and through the weekend.

Friday

Plan for a dry start to Friday, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. We're tracking a surge of deep tropical moisture moving into Southwest Florida that will increase rain chances throughout the day.

Scattered storms (60% coverage) are expected during the afternoon and evening before gradually tapering off later Friday night. High temperatures will reach the lower to mid-90s before storms develop.

Saturday

Saturday also starts mainly dry, although a stray shower is possible along the coast. Another round of scattered storms is expected during the afternoon and evening, developing near the US-41 and I-75 corridors before slowly tracking east. Heavy rainfall will be possible, along with gusty winds. High temperatures will top out in the lower 90s.
