LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)—A multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck shut down multiple lanes at the intersection of Six Mile Cypress Parkway and Metro Parkway this evening, according to South Trail Fire & Rescue.
Firefighters and Lee County EMS worked together to assess patients, provide medical care and secure the scene, the fire department said. Multiple lanes remained closed during the response.
One patient was transported to a local hospital. All other involved parties were evaluated on scene and declined transport, according to the release.
"Crashes can happen in an instant," South Trail Fire & Rescue said. "Please drive alert, avoid distractions, leave and always wear your seatbelt."
The fire department emphasized that the safest trip is one that ends with everyone getting home safely.
