SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking an area of deep tropical moisture that will increase our rain chances Friday and through the weekend.
Off to a dry start this Friday with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. We're watching an area of deep tropical moisture move in that will increase our rain coverage today. Plan for scattered storms (60% coverage) developing in the early afternoon with the most amount of rain around for the evening commute. Storms look to taper off for any plans you may have late Friday evening and overnight. Highs top out in the lower to mid 90s before the rain moves in.
Saturday looks to start dry with a stray shower possible along the coast. We'll see another round of scattered storms (40% coverage) Saturday afternoon and early evening with those developing around US-41 and I-75 before tracking slowly East. Heavy rain is likely with some gusty winds possible. Highs top out in the lower 90s.
Looking dry for your Sunday morning plans with temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80. More storms build in Sunday afternoon with scattered storms (50% coverage) expected. Storms begin to pop up around midday with the greatest coverage throughout the afternoon before they taper off through the evening. Highs top out in the lower 90s.
