Weekend rain timing matters — one day looks wetter than the other

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — Scattered storms remain in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, but the timing and location will make all the difference. Afternoon high temperatures this weekend will reach the lower to mid-90s. 

Saturday will start with a few clouds and only a stray coastal shower possible. As we head into the midday hours, a few showers and storms may develop along and west of I-75. Through the afternoon and evening, scattered storms (40% coverage) will be most likely across our inland communities east of I-75, including Glades and Hendry counties.

Sunday brings more opportunities for rain, especially for communities that miss out on storms Saturday.

A few coastal showers are possible Sunday morning under a partly cloudy sky. Scattered storms (60% coverage) are expected from midday through the evening, with the early afternoon offering the best chance for rain. Unlike Saturday, rain chances won't be confined to inland areas, with more communities across Southwest Florida likely to see rainfall.
