Active death investigation underway at Dog Beach

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla (WINK) — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is on scene conducting an active death investigation at Dog Beach.

Deputies arrived on the scene at around 2 p.m. on Monday.

WINK News contacted the sheriff’s office regarding this investigation. Deputies say that while an active death investigation is ongoing, it remains unknown if a drowning occurred.

Early reports from the sheriff’s office say the death does not appear suspicious at this time.
