Ranchette Road in Fort Myers reopened after it closed for two days as deputies investigated a house fire where one person was found dead.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire, and the scene has now been cleared. Neighbors say they first noticed law enforcement vehicles, including a mobile command center and the major crimes unit, lining the street yesterday morning when crews arrived to respond to the fire.
Sunday, deputies continued their investigation, going in and out of the driveway of the home. Deputies were seen carrying a small gray box and a shovel to the back of the house. Deputies also took pictures of evidence markers placed in the driveway before clearing out.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office stated that more updates on the case are expected Monday.
