A Cape Coral man was arrested on Monday after police said they found him loitering behind a vape shop. According to the Cape Coral Police Department, an officer responded to the parking lot of Primo Vape Shop, located at 1524 Hancock Bridge Parkway, at around 1:35 a.m. in reference to reports of suspicious persons in the area. The officer located two people, Damien Wright, 19, and a teenager, who were dressed in dark clothing and breathing heavily, CCPD said. Wright was questioned, and his backpack was searched. The officer found vapes in Wright's backpack, the report said. The officer then located a ski mask with the teenager as well as a lighter, which the teen said was for fireworks, the report said. Due to their underage status, the teen was released to their mother. Due to a recent increase in commercial burglaries of smoke shops, the officer arrested Wright, the report said. Wright faces charges of loitering or prowling and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
