A teen died after he was pulled from the Gulf in the area of 2nd Avenue North at Naples Beach on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Naples Police Department, officers and the Naples Fire-Rescue District received reports of a missing 16-year-old swimmer at approximately 2:08 p.m. The NPD said initial reports advised that the teen was swimming in choppy waters when sight of him was lost. Crews searched for the teen, and around 2:25 p.m., he was found in the surf and removed from the water. The teen was unresponsive and not breathing, and crews began CPR procedures before he was transported to an area hospital. According to the NPD, the 16-year-old was unable to be resuscitated.
