Golden Gate man airlifted after self-inflicted shooting on Wellesley Circle

GOLDEN GATE, Fla. (WINK)—Detectives are investigating a shooting in the 1700 block of Wellesley Circle in Golden Gate.

The call came into dispatch at 2:40 p.m. A male victim was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital for treatment.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office said the injury appears to be self-inflicted. However, the investigation is still ongoing, and they have not determined whether the shooting was intentional or accidental.

Detectives said it appears to be an isolated incident. There is no danger to the community at large.

This is an active investigation.
