SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking breezy conditions over the next few days, leading to poor boating conditions and a high rip current risk for all Southwest Florida beaches.
Plan for a mild and humid start Thursday morning, with isolated showers (30% coverage) possible. Isolated storms will develop through the midday and afternoon hours, with the greatest coverage shifting east of I-75. Breezy conditions continue, with wind gusts up to 30 mph. High temperatures will be seasonable, topping out in the lower 90s.
A few stray showers will be possible during the Friday morning commute. Isolated storms (30% coverage) will once again develop around midday before shifting east through the afternoon. While not quite as breezy as the last few days, Friday will still feature occasional afternoon wind gusts. Highs will top out in the lower 90s.
A high rip current risk remains in effect for the beaches of Lee and Charlotte counties through Friday, while Collier County remains under a moderate rip current risk. Boaters should continue to exercise caution as breezy winds create rough boating conditions.
