A man was arrested by the Collier County Sheriff's Office after being accused of hitting a victim with a crowbar at a North Naples bar on Tuesday. According to an arrest report, deputies responded to Jacks Bait Shack in reference to a fight in progress. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, who said that he had been hit with a crowbar. Witnesses at the bar told deputies that the suspect, Mark Ferreira, 43, came up to the bar with a crowbar, and hit the victim with it. Other witnesses told deputies that Ferreira hit another person with the crowbar when they attempted to stop the fight. A third person reportedly attempted to stop Ferreira, and they both ended up on the ground before Ferreira drove away from the scene, the report says. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Ferreira walking to the front patio area of the bar, holding a crowbar. The victim is reportedly shown hitting Ferreira in the back of the head, and then Ferreira is shown swinging the crowbar multiple times. Deputies later located Ferreira in his car at the intersection of US-41 and Audubon Boulevard. During a search of his vehicle, deputies located a powdery substance that was later identified as cocaine, the report says. A search of Ferreira himself reportedly found brass knuckles. Ferreira was arrested. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
