Memorial held for 15-year-old killed in Lehigh Acres neighborhood

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (WINK) —A memorial is being held for 15-year-old Matthew Kymani St. Marc, who was shot and killed on Southwest 22nd Street.

The memorial starts at 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to dress in red and black, the themed colors for Matthew's memorial.

Deputies are conducting their investigation into the death of Matthew St. Marc. The door-knocking comes after deputies executed a search warrant that involved the Lee County Sheriff's Office SWAT team at a home a block away from the killing on Wednesday.

WINK News is still working to confirm if that was related to the shooting investigation.

Oliver Freeman, president of the Riverdale Wildcats, spoke about how Matthew's teammates are coping with the loss.

"Before I can really explain to my kids what happened by us being older, obviously they probably knew before I knew," Freeman said. "I already had like seven or eight kids come up to me like, Coach, nobody's wearing 27. That's Matthew's number. We're retiring his number, and you know we're going from there. I'm like, okay, that's what you guys want to do, but they definitely took it the hard way."

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said they will be present for the memorial. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.

As of Friday morning, no one has been arrested for the homicide of St. Marc. LCSO is asking for patience as detectives work the case.
