Tracking more rain chances as we head into August

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking isolated showers as we wrap up July ahead of a bit more rain for the first weekend of August.

There is a low-end risk for excessive rainfall across portions of Southwest Florida over the next couple of days.

Friday

Scattered showers will be possible during the Friday morning commute. Isolated showers and a few storms (30% coverage) will develop around midday before gradually shifting east through the afternoon. While not as breezy as the last few days, Friday will still feature occasional afternoon wind gusts. High temperatures will top out in the lower 90s.

Saturday

Plan for a few showers (20% coverage) during the morning hours. As additional moisture moves into Southwest Florida, storm coverage will increase through the afternoon and early evening. Scattered showers and storms (40% coverage) are expected, with highs remaining seasonable in the lower 90s.
