The Naples Airport has launched a solar panel installation project aimed at reducing electricity costs. On Friday, the airport held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the initiative, which will include the installation of 270 solar panels. Chris Rozansky, executive director of the Naples Airport, said that this project has other benefits apart from cost-cutting. "It also provides a degree of resiliency against hurricanes. It's critically important that airport staff and equipment can safely store and be ready to go immediately after a storm. So this facility is really going to be critical for helping us to achieve those objectives," said Rozansky. The project cost just under $250,000, and the airport expects to recoup the entire expense through energy savings within the next six years.
