Naples rideshare driver wanted for skipping court after arrest for hitting person with car at RSW

Lee County deputies are looking for a man who skipped court after being accused of intentionally hitting a person with his vehicle at Southwest Florida International Airport. According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Walvy Leyva Perez, 55, was working as a rideshare driver when he arrived at RSW in the taxi staging area. There, Perez got into an argument with another driver over Perez's illegal parking. The argument quickly escalated, and the victim retreated to their car. As the victim walked in front of Perez's SUV, Perez hit the gas pedal and struck the victim with his vehicle, Crime Stoppers said. The victim fell to the ground and was injured, but Perez kept driving and left the scene, Crime Stoppers said. Witnesses and security cameras were able to trace the incident back to Perez, who was located a few days later and arrested. Perez spent four days in jail before being released on the condition of showing up to his next court date, which Perez failed to do. Crime Stoppers said Perez is 5'10", weighs 220 pounds, and was last known to be living in Naples.
