Man accused in I-75 Lee County standoff still hospitalized, court date moved

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — The man accused of killing a Saint Petersburg sanitation worker, then leading law enforcement on an hours-long standoff on I-75 in Lee County, will have to wait longer for his next day in court.

Ladavion King was scheduled to appear for a motion hearing this afternoon, but the hearing was postponed because of medical reasons.

King remains hospitalized after the July standoff, which came hours after investigators say he fatally shot his girlfriend, Natasha Moses, before fleeing to Lee County. The scene brought traffic to a standstill for hours before he surrendered, and deputies took him into custody.

He now faces seven felony charges in Lee County.

The court rescheduled the hearing for Aug. 26 at 8:30 a.m. WINK News will continue to follow this case as it develops.
