SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — Some Florida school districts are cracking down on e-bikes.
Electric bikes and scooters are now banned at Orange County schools unless the high school student has their license or learner's permit. WINK News asked local school districts about their policies on e-bikes.
Collier County Public Schools does not allow electric or motorized scooters or bikes to be ridden on campus. They can only be walked or carried.
Lee County Schools' policy only requires bike riders to wear a helmet. Charlotte County Schools does not allow hoverboards on campus, but the policy doesn't say anything about e-bikes.
