Daniels Pkway resurfacing project moves forward after Lee County awards $1.7 million contract

The Lee County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to award a contract to resurface and improve Daniels Parkway. According to the county, the contract covers improvements on Daniels Parkway from Six Mile Cypress Parkway east to the county's ongoing Daniels Parkway widening that is part of the Three Oaks Extension Project. The resurfacing effort will complete the county's efforts to resurface the stretch of Daniels Parkway from US-41 east to I-75. The final segment of resurfacing will be completed during night hours only, according to the county. The $1.7 million contract was awarded to Preferred Materials Inc. The contract includes milling, resurfacing, pavement restriping, shoulder work, traffic signal work, and ADA upgrades. Work is expected to begin in late August and be completed by early fall.
