The wettest stretch of the week starts Wednesday

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — A wind shift will bring higher rain coverage across Southwest Florida through the rest of the week.

Wednesday morning will start with a partly cloudy sky and low temperatures in the mid-70s. Expect a mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon as highs climb into the lower 90s. Scattered storms (60% coverage) will develop during the afternoon and evening, moving from southeast to northwest across Southwest Florida.

Rain coverage remains elevated at 60% on Thursday and Friday. Through Saturday, some communities could pick up 2 to 4 inches of rainfall. High temperatures will remain in the lower 90s before storms and increased cloud cover provide some afternoon cooling.

No tropical development is expected over the next seven days.
