Cape Coral city leaders are set to consider $19,452.91 in state grant funding during Wednesday's city council meeting at 4 p.m. If approved, the grant would pay for extra overtime patrols focused on pedestrian and bicycle safety, along with educating people about safe driving and sharing the road. The grant would cover these efforts through next May and would not cost city taxpayers any additional money. Police will be able to ask for more money during the grant funding period.
