Fort Myers man accused of threatening to burn down law office, kill officials

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — A man was arrested after authorities said he sent threatening emails that raised significant concerns for law enforcement.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office received an email on Tuesday that included threatening language and links to a video. Detectives reviewed evidence, including a Google Drive account, that led investigators to the suspect, Adam Jeffrey Vaughn.

Vaughn faces multiple charges, including a written or electronic threat of a mass shooting or terrorism act, two counts of written or electronic threat to kill or cause bodily harm to another, trafficking synthetic cannabinoids 280 grams or more, two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug equipment.

Authorities said Vaughn made threats to burn down a law office. He is also accused of making direct threats to Sheriff Carmine Marceno and Amira Fox.

Vaughn remains in custody as the investigation continues.
