A Port Charlotte man accused of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle during a family dispute has been arrested after a weekslong search by Charlotte County deputies. According to CCSO, George V. Kilgore III, 44, reportedly got into a family dispute at a home on Cape Terrace Northwest on July 22. During that dispute, he reportedly shot into the vehicle parked at the home. No one reported injuries. Deputes say Kilgore ran away from the area before law enforcement could arrive, and was on the run for three weeks. Deputies managed to locate and arrest Kilgore on Tuesday. Kilgore faces charges of discharging a firearm in public, possession of a firearm or weapon by a convicted felon and battery by intentional touch or strike.
