Lee County announced Wednesday that the splash pads at Lakes Regional Park have reopened following a full replacement project after damage sustained during Hurricane Ian. According to the county, the new splash pads opened at 9 a.m. Wednesday and offer an updated and engaging water play experience for families and children. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for August 26 at 9:30 a.m. to fully celebrate the completion of the project. The $2.6 million project was funded through the Florida Division of Emergency Management Legislative Appropriations Program Fund. The project included the demolition and removal of damaged equipment and concrete, as well as the construction of new splash pads.
