DeSoto County felon accused of tossing bag of drugs out truck window during traffic stop

A 17-time convicted felon was arrested in DeSoto County after being accused of throwing a bag of meth out the window of a truck during a traffic stop. According to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday morning, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a truck that was traveling 53 mph in a 30 mph zone. The deputy said they saw the passenger, identified as Jimmy Lundquist III, throw a small black item out of the window and into the woods. A K-9 unit arrived on the scene and conducted an open-air sniff, alerting the deputies to the presence of narcotics near the passenger side door, DCSO said. Inside the truck, deputies found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue inside a backpack near where Lundquist was sitting. Deputies then located the black bag that had been thrown out the window, which, according to DCSO, contained: 23.74 grams of methamphetamine 0.22 grams of cocaine 2.54 grams of marijuana 18 strips of Suboxone, packaged individually Lundquist was arrested and faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
