A temporary telephone interruption at the Charlotte County Emergency Communications Center has rerouted 911 calls to Lee County on Friday while the issue is resolved. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the temporary rerouting will not affect emergency response. The agency said emergency services personnel can still be dispatched to emergencies during the outage. Anyone who needs to contact CCSO Administration is asked to call (941)769-2538 or (941)769-1492 while the phone system is experiencing problems.
