Lee County drivers: Edison Bridge lane closure starts at 8 p.m. Friday. See when it will reopen

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Part of the Edison Bridge is getting some overnight work done starting Friday.

Beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, the Florida Department of Transportation says two northbound outside lanes and the shoulder of the Edison Bridge on Business U.S. 41 will close.

The inside travel lane will stay open for drivers during the closure.

Crews plan to maintain bridge joints during the work, and the lanes are expected to reopen around 12:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

Drivers heading through the area should slow down and stay alert in the work zone.
