Lehigh Acres child abuse suspect faces new Oxycodone trafficking charge

A Lehigh Acres man arrested on an aggravated child abuse charge now faces a new charge for drug trafficking, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. LCSO says that an investigation into Chancelor Rolle, 24, led to deputies finding more than 1,600 Oxycodone pills during the execution of a search warrant. This comes just days after Rolle was taken into custody by deputies after they say he violently shook his 4-month-old infant. Deputies first responded to Rolle's home when the infant was reported to be unresponsive. The infant was taken to Galisano Children's Hospital, where doctors found out he sustained severe head injuries consistent with "non-accidental trauma." Deputies say that during their investigation, Rolle admitted to violently shaking the infant and hitting his head against a doorframe because he would not stop crying. The mother of the infant was not home at the time of the incident, LCSO says. Rolle now faces a charge of trafficking in Oxycodone (more than seven grams) on top of his existing charge of aggravated child abuse.
