LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — A Fort Myers man was arrested early Sunday after abeing accused him of stealing about $5 worth of rolling papers from a gas station and threatening a deputy during his arrest, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies from the 2nd Precinct responded to the 7-Eleven on Lee Boulevard after receiving a report of a masked man stealing the rolling papers, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies located the suspect, 21-year-old Steven Rosario Jr., across the street at another gas station, according to the sheriff's office. When deputies approached, Rosario resisted and attempted to fight them, the agency said. A Taser was deployed to help take him into custody.
While deputies were handcuffing Rosario, he repeatedly threatened to kill a deputy, according to the sheriff's office.
Rosario was arrested on charges including theft, resisting an officer, making threats to a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana.
