House cleaner reportedly admits to stealing $600 from Bonita Springs clients, accused of taking more

A Lehigh Acres house cleaner was arrested by deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office after she was accused of stealing from her client. According to an arrest report, deputies were first called to a home in Bonita Springs regarding a case of theft on August 5. The victim told deputies that her husband kept $8,000 in a wooden box for unexpected expenses, and that she noticed $5,000 was missing. As additional funds continued to go missing, the victim told deputies that she began to suspect the cleaning lady, later identified as Brittany Besing, 42. Besing, according to the victim, would go to the home every Wednesday to clean, and was the only visitor to the house in over a year. The victim reported that in total, $5,900 was stolen from her. Besing reportedly admitted to stealing $600 from the victim, but denied taking the other $5,300. Besing was arrested and faces a charge of theft of $300 to $10,000 from a person 65 and older.
