Investigation underway after woman body-slammed at bar near UCF

A 19-year-old woman is recovering after someone body-slammed her at a bar near the University of Central Florida, leaving her in the intensive care unit for several days with a cracked skull and a brain bleed. According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, a fight broke out at the Knight Library bar around 9:30 p.m. Friday, resulting in one person being taken to the hospital. No arrests have been made, but detectives are actively investigating. "What happened to this poor young woman is just horrific," said attorney Mark NeJame, whose office is representing Olivia Nogueras and conducting its own investigation into what happened. "They grabbed my friend's hair. One guy swung ... they punched me in the face. ... I pulled him in closer with his shirt and punched him ... and then after that, somebody picked me up and slammed me on the side of my head." Nogueras suffered a cracked skull and a brain bleed from the impact of her head hitting the ground. She had recently recovered from a separate brain injury after she was hit in the head with a softball in October 2025. "It caused her to go through months of recovery," NeJame said. "Her neurologist is indicating that this is an entirely new injury to the brain, so this poor young woman has really had it. It seems like it was all avoidable, and it should have been avoided." "We're at the beginning stages of our investigation, and we'll be relentless, as we typically are, in getting to the bottom of this and making sure that justice is served and that the right thing is done," NeJame said. Nogueras is now recovering at home, but she still has a long road ahead. A fundraiser has been set up to help support her recovery. "Besides all that mishap, I'm just blessed to be here today," Nogueras said in the TikTok.
