Heads up, Naples: I-75 southbound will shut down overnight Aug. 18 | See detour route

NAPLES, Fla. (WINK) — A section of southbound Interstate 75 will be fully closed overnight near State Road 951 for sign installation work.

According to a press release from the Florida Department of Transportation, the closure will begin at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, and last through 5 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19. Crews will install an overhead sign just north of S.R. 951, also known as exit 101.

Motorists traveling south on I-75 who need to access S.R. 951 or Collier Boulevard should exit at Golden Gate Parkway at exit 105. From there, drivers should travel east on Golden Gate Parkway to County Road 951 or Collier Boulevard.

For those continuing south on I-75 toward Miami, the detour requires exiting at Golden Gate Parkway at exit 105. Motorists should then travel east on Golden Gate Parkway to south on C.R. 951 or Collier Boulevard to re-enter I-75 southbound via the new loop ramp.

The press release urged drivers to use extra caution and follow detour signage or seek alternate routes. Law enforcement will be on site to assist motorists during the closure.
