The City of Cape Coral's Parks and Recreation Department announced that portions of Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve will close on Monday. This closure, the city says, is necessary to complete repairs to the boardwalk. It sustained hurricane-related damage, and contractors will be performing repair work to portions of it. The closures will include the boardwalk, piers, parking, restrooms, visitor center and the Veterans Memorial. Park programs will also be postponed. The city says that the kayak launch, docks and picnic area on Kayak Shack Road will remain open. All amenities are expected to reopen on Sept. 30.
