Three juveniles were arrested after officers with the Cape Coral Police Department say they stole from a business and assaulted the employees. According to a release from CCPD, officers responded to a disturbance in Northeast Cape Coral just after 5 a.m. on Sunday. They determined that a burglary and theft occurred, during which the employees were assaulted. The employees provided detectives with surveillance video, showing three men entering the business. One of the men had reportedly hidden an item from the business, causing a verbal confrontation with the employees. The employees told the men to leave the business, and they did so without one of them paying for the concealed item. Afterward, the three men reportedly forced their way back into the store and started physically attacking the employees. Surveillance video shows the employees being hit multiple times. The three juveniles were later identified as Joseph Noel Herrera, 16, Jordan Diaz, 17, and Jordan Ruel Montez, 17 by CCPD. At around 5:25 a.m., an officer saw the vehicle the men were suspected of driving leaving the area. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped off. The vehicle was going at speeds of up to 90 mph west on the eastbound lanes of Pine Island Road, CCPD says. The suspect's car reportedly reached speeds of approximately 100 mph, before stopping on Northeast Pine Island Road and the three juveniles were detained.
