SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking record-high temperatures and dangerous heat as we begin the work week.
Dry and mild this Monday morning with temperatures in the 70s. Saharan dust continues to move across the southern tier of the state which will keep us dry Monday afternoon. The heat will be the biggest impact with highs in the mid to upper 90s and "feels like" temperatures ranging from 106 - 112°. A heat advisory is in effect until 7 PM this evening.
Tuesday starts dry with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. While Saharan dust will be moving out of the state plan for another mainly dry day with a stray shower (10% coverage or less) popping up in the afternoon. Temperatures will not be as hot as Monday, but will still feel quite hot. Highs in the mid 90s with "feels like" temperatures ranging from 105 - 111°.
Mild and dry start Wednesday with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 90s. While the morning will start dry we will see a little more rain Wednesday. Isolated showers (30% coverage) and a few storms will pop up in the afternoon and early evening. Highs top out in the lower to mid 90s while still feeling quite a bit hotter.
