A Gateway man is accused was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office after they say he broke into Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church, destroyed property inside and set off the fire alarm. According to LCSO, Aaron Vicente, 19, broke into the church on Saturday. Deputies say that no one else was in the church. Vicente reportedly set off the fire alarm and began destroying tables and a drum set. LCSO says he smashed a guitar against a tree and also smeared feces in the sign of the cross and himself. After this, deputies say Vicente entered a 7-Eleven and told the clerk what he did. The clerk called 911, and deputies went there to arrest him. Vicente faces charges of unarmed burglary of an unoccupied structure, falsely setting off a fire alarm and criminal mischief with damage to property of a church, synagogue, mosque or religious article.
